8 July 2015

Family of Professor Liu Yun

We were deeply shocked and saddened upon hearing the news that Prof. Liu Yun had passed away. On behalf of World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) and the staff of the Secretariat, I would like to send my condolences to Prof. Liu Yun and my sincere sympathy to the family.

Out of her noble demeanor, outstanding academic achievements and enthusiasm in promoting international development of acupuncture-moxibustion, Prof. Liu was elected as Member of the 6th Executive Committee, and Vice President of the 7th and 8th Executive Committees of WFAS in 2005, 2009 and 2013, respectively. She was also invited to be Deputy Director of the Expert Committee and Deputy Director of the International Acupuncture Standardization Working Committee. Her constant pursuit to science and the charisma of her personality are what should be remembered and followed.

The decease of Prof. Liu is not only a loss to the global acupuncture-moxibustion profession, but also a great loss to WFAS. Prof. Liu Yun will be forever remembered.

Yours sincerely,
