Headed by Fang Shuting, senior advisor of WFAS, former vice director of SATCM, president of China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a delegation from SATCM visited America and held a talk with representatives from North California TCM Merchants Association. Mr. Fang Shuting stated that China attached great importance to the development of TCM. The production of medical materials, the development and innovation of TCM have been considered as important state-level issues. The Chinese government has invested 3.6 billion yuan and shall expand the investment in TCM development. With regard to the expansion of TCM in America, the experiences of TCM merchants here are quite valuable.

Liu Yuankai, president of North California TCM Merchants Association, said that the visit could broaden the understandings of TCM regulations in America, which would be helpful to further bilateral exchanges and trade. All the delegates headed by Fang Shutign, council of TCM Merchants Association and overseas colleagues should cooperate with each other to expand the influences of TCM overseas and protect the stability of overseas Chinese and Chinese community.

They extended their welcome to the delegation’s visit and their appreciation to the delegation’s support amid global financial crisis. They believed the visit could promote the standardization of TCM in California, improve the proficiency and integration of TCM medicine and consolidate their relations and communications with their colleagues, TCM universities and governments in both sides.

The meeting was participated also by representatives of WFAS, Dr. Liu Yun and Dr. Liu Meichang.
